Message from Director
Wenyi Quotations contains the following story:
There was once an old monk, who wrote the word “heart” on the door, the window and the wall. Zen Master Wenyi said, “It’s already good just to write “door” on the door; “window” on the window; “wall” on the wall.”
Once a reporter asked Peter Brook:
Reporter: There has been a heated discussion on Brook’s style. Would you like to shed some light on this? What is Brook’s style?
Brook: This can be achieved through hard work and we are working together. The style shows at the moment when you stop thinking.
To me, striving to seek all around here and there lets you realise that the so-called style appears when you let go.
Do it with all of your heart and inject your soul into it – that is what I call “Director”.
